Avenue Charge - This Avenue will be responsible for encouraging programs related to youth development including leadership development and service above self within our community to include young adults up to age of normal entry into a typical rotary club. 

Rotaract – co-Chairs: Lynn Betros / Christy King

Charge:  this committee will work closely with the Rotaract club president to assist as requested in recommending and engaging speakers for meetings, encouraging attendance at meetings including lunch club meetings and supporting Rotaract social events and service projects of the club. The Committee shall serve as a liaison between the club and the Rotaract Club of Florida’s First Coast.  The committee shall promote attendance at Rotaract meetings and events and shall promote Rotaract member attendance at our meetings and events.  The committee shall coordinate with the Fellowship & Social and the Community Service Projects Committees to design and implement a group outing and joint project with Rotaract. 

      2017-18 Goals

  • Have a minimum of 4 members on the Rotaract committee.
  • One of our club members attend each Rotaract meeting.   
  • Assist the Rotaract Club in achieving annual recognition by RI. There are a Rotaract Presidential citation and Zone 34 Award available each year.  
  • Initiate a mentorship program for Rotaract Members.
  • Involve Rotaract and Interact Members in club projects and events.

Satellite - Chair – Bob Massey

Charge: this committee will work closely with the chair of the Satellite membership to assist as requested in recommending and engaging speakers for meetings, encouraging attendance at meetings including lunch club meetings and supporting Satellite social events and service projects of the club.  In addition, this committee should work to strengthen the bond between the lunch club and the Satellite membership with ultimate goal of graduation into the lunch club of worthy Satellite members.  Also, assist in arranging joint meetings and joint projects with the Club on a quarterly basis and review by-laws, discuss concerns with Board.

      2017-2018 Goals:

  • Increase membership.
  • Involve Satellite members with club craft talks, projects and events.

Youth Exchange – co-Chairs: Meredith Porter / Robyn Watson

Charge:  This committee will be responsible for overseeing the youth exchange program including identifying  host families, engaging the student, encouraging the student to attend and participate at club meetings and assisting the student in any other ways as necessary.  The committee will also keep the club informed about the student’s activities and needs.

     2017-2018 Goals

  • Sponsor a Rotary Youth Exchange Student.

Interact/EarlyAct/RYLA – co-Chairs: Hobart Joost / Richard Dow / Vicki-lynne Gloger

Charge:  This committee will be responsible for initiating new clubs, sustaining existing clubs and also working with school counselors to identify students to attend the annual RYLA weekend.

The Interact Committee shall serve as a liaison between the club and the Interact Club at Bishop Kenny.  The committee shall seek to establish excellent communication with the school to ensure a faculty sponsor has been identified.  The committee shall assist the sponsor with organizing the club for the upcoming school year, promote attendance at Interact meetings and events and promote Interact member/sponsor attendance at our meetings and events.  The committee shall review the possibility of having a Vocation Day at the school so members can go to classrooms and talk about their professions.  Also, implement a process by which the club can advertise and have area high school students apply for scholarships to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly.

     2017-2018 Goals

  • Sponsor an Interact Club.
  • Sponsor an Earlyact Club.
  • Club membership participation at each meeting
  • Sponsor a RYLA event participant
